Application/Valuing:
Research Activity (Surf the Net):
(Note: this will be the next topic to be discussed the following meeting)
Identify and discuss some of the bio ethical issues involved in in vitro fertilization. Is this a wise alternative for a couple’s choice in obtaining a child? Consider these options: in vitro fertilization using a couple’s egg and sperm, in vitro fertilization using a donor sperm or egg, and insemination of surrogate mother with sperm from the couples husband. Think of some more. Describe what ethical issues these various options present.
Assessment/Evaluation:
A. Prenatal care is essential in maintaining the health of the mother and the baby. Interview a nurse-midwife or obstetrician in your locality to determine exactly what is involved in prenatal care. Include specific information on what may be beneficial or harmful to the mother and the fetus. Summarize your findings in a power point presentation.( Maximum of 10 slides and minimum of 5)
Note:(This will be a grouped activity ,follow your groupings). You are going to collate all the information gathered and just present one presentation from all the groups)
B. Create a flow chart on the development of a baby.(power point presentation)
Work by pair, submit your presentation on my blog account.
